Biography

Jack Carpenter was born on September 18, 1984. He graduated in 2006 from Carnegie Mellon with a BFA in Drama. Carpenter, who is also a writer as well as being a classically trained actor, lives in New York, and continues pursuing his first love, the theater. His brain is cluttered with a ferocious understanding of superheroes and video games, and he harbors a not-so-secret ambition to one day have coffee with Alvy Singer and Holden Morrisey Caulfield.

In what was his third professional audition, he was offered the title role in the NBC half-hour pilot, Lipshitz Saves the World, alongside Leslie Nielsen (unfortunately the show never aired on TV). Playing "Lenny" in the feature film Sydney White was his next professional step up the comedy ladder.

He was supposed to have a recurring arc in the new FOX show, The Return of Jezebel James, starring Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose, in a role written specifically for him by the show's creator-executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, but FOX only aired the first three episodes and then dropped it (his episode arc had not aired at that point). He's completed filming on a new half-hour show for Comedy Central entitled Held Up which is now in post-production, and is also appearing in the upcoming film I Love You Beth Cooper, scheduled for theatrical release next year!
